JWSL JUNIOR OPEN 2026

No, this is not a Snookerz tournament. This is a Jimmy Whites Sports Lounge (JWSL) tournament that JWSL have asked Snookerz to help run. 

Any player aged Under 21 years old as at 30 Aug 26 is eligible to enter this event

The cost of entry is £15.  Enter online HERE

The prize structure will be published nearer to event and will be dependant on how many players we get and event costs.   

The draw will be made (and published here) on or around 22nd August 2026

It is very unlikely that you will be able to enter on the day. You are strongly advised to enter online to guarantee your place

This tournament will be run over one day and will be a straight knock out. First round will be best of 5 frames. There will be no plate at this event. . 

Due to table availability & club requirements the first round will be subject to possible time restrictions placed on any given match. This means that if  the TD feels your match is over running to such an extent to hold up the tournament or cause inconvenience to the venue, delaying return of tables, then you will be told you have a certain amount of time left, and the clock will be put on the match. There will be no debate or discussion if a the TD decides to put a clock on any given match. the TD's decision is final.  Once the clock runs out , the winner will be the person who is leading.   

Frame score will be the first consideration and if level , points on the board in the current frame will be considered, if that is level, all balls will be removed from the table and the match will be decided by a respotted black. 

We encourage players to wear sponsor logo's for any company that supports them. 

The simple answer here is no, not ever. Our draws are always totally random. 

We're delighted to announce that Oliver Sykes, (who as many of you will know has just secured his professional tour card) will be playing in this event.  Oliver will be giving an additional handicap to all players on top the standard tier handicaps already announced.   

Jimmy White has indicated that he will be in attendance and will be presenting trophies etc.

You will be asked when you enter, what your highest MATCH break is. Handicaps will be assessed as follows

Break 0-39  +28

Break 40-79  +14

Break 80+  Scratch

We hope to be streaming selected matches at this event and more information on this will be published in due course

Referees cost money and that means less prize money. At most events like this, players ref themselves until the final stages of the event. 

For rounds 1 to and including the semi finals players will ref themselves and there will be a 'roaming ref' 

 Doors will open at 10am. When you arrive please sign in (before you do anything else) at the registration desk which will be clearly marked

The tournament will start at 10.30am sharp  . There will be a player briefing at 10.25am

Yes, there is. It is as follows:

DRESS CODE: .  NO TRAINERS - Shoes only  and NO JEANS and NO SHORTS . Trousers only. Single colour Polo Shirt or regular shirt

If the TD deems your attire to be unacceptable you may be removed from the event without refund, or other penalty as the TD deems appropriate.  

You can play at Jimmy Whites Sports Lounge up to and including the 29th August 2026,  subject to existing opening times, membership rules and table availability / costs . You can find all the info you need on this amazing new venue here : www.jwsl.co.uk

From and including the 27th August to the 29th August any players that is already registered to play in this event can practice / play on JWSL snooker tables without needing to be a JWSL club member. Normal table rates apply.

On the day itself  (30th August) there will be NO PRACTICE ALLOWED either before or during the tournament

No refunds will be made for any withdrawals for any reason - for clarity ; although Jimmy White has confirmed that he will be at this event, if for any reason at all Jimmy wasn't able to attend there would be no refunds.
