This event is now sold out so there will not be any places available on the day for walk ins.
You can , if you wish, attend on the day to see if there are any last minute places due to last minute withdrawals. It is unlikely there will be places and you attend entirely at your own risk of not getting a place. If you do elect to to this please be at the venue by 10.15am and immediately make yourself known to the tournament director.
This tournament will be run over one day and will be a straight knock out. First round will be best of 5 frames. There will be no plate at this event. .
Due to table availability & club requirements the first round will be subject to possible time restrictions placed on any given match. This means that if the TD feels your match is over running to such an extent to hold up the tournament or cause inconvenience to the venue, delaying return of tables, then you will be told you have a certain amount of time left, and the clock will be put on the match. There will be no debate or discussion if a the TD decides to put a clock on any given match. the TD's decision is final. Once the clock runs out , the winner will be the person who is leading.
Frame score will be the first consideration and if level , points on the board in the current frame will be considered, if that is level, all balls will be removed from the table and the match will be decided by a respotted black.
We are very fortunate to be running the Snookerz Xmas Cracker at this amazing new venue and so as organisers we will be doing our part to ensure we dont get one match holding up the entire tournament and delaying the handing back of tables for club use.
We encourage players to wear sponsor logo's for any company that supports them. Players will be required to wear event host & organisers logo (stick on logos will be supplied free of charge to all players). Any spare stickers will be available to anyone that wants one - they make great Cue Case stickers.
The simple answer here is no, not ever. Our draws are always totally random.
There are no pro's registered to play at this event. It is an amateur event.
As there are no pro's registered to play at this event, there will be no handicaps.
This event will not be streamed live although footage from selected matches will be recorded and shown at a later date on JWSL & SNOOKERZ social media. Everyone entering this tournament agrees to any match they play in, being recorded.
Referees cost money and that means less prize money. At most events like this, players ref themselves until the final stages of the event.
For rounds 1 to and including the quarter finals players will ref themselves and there will be a roving ref (Rob) who will adjudicate any matters referred to him and or he feels needs his input.
Robs decisions are final and will not be over ruled by the TD . Matters can only be referred to the TD for a ruling if Rob deems it necessary .
Please do not argue with Rob once he has made a decision. Dissent towards an official ref is taken very seriously by us and may very well result in the offending player being removed from the event , without refund.
Rob will be introduced to all players at the player briefing
The semi finals and the final will be reffed.
Doors will open at 10am. When you arrive please sign in (before you do anything else) at the registration desk which will be clearly marked
The tournament will start at 10.30am sharp . There will be a player briefing at 10.25am
There are strict penalties in place for late shows:
All players must be present and ready to play by 10.30am. Any player that is not present and ready to play by 10.30am AND has been drawn to play on the first matches on , will be docked 1 frame. Following this at 11.00am , if said player is still not present and ready to play, then they will be removed from the tournament and their place offered to any standby players that are present , ready to play and wish to play. No refunds will be given to the player removed from the tournament.
We're sorry but NO REASONS FOR LATENESS will be considered. The timings above will be strictly enforced. Please therefore allow plenty of time for your journey to the venue.
During the tournament please make sure you are present at the venue and available to play. If you need to leave the venue for any reason, please let the TD know. We will not agree to any absenses of more than 15 minutes . We have alot of matches to play and limited tables. We will be as accommodating as we can be but the bottom line is that we need to keep the tournament running on schedule, so if you are longer than 15 minutes and your match is called, you will be docked frame(s) and you agree to abide by all rulings the TD makes.
The TD reserves the right to amend or adjust this policy at his sole discretion and any time during the event.
OUR MISS RULE POLICY IS BASED ON THE ACTUAL MISS RULE AND NOT THE 'EVERYTHING IS A MISS' MANY PEOPLE THINK IS THE RULE.
To understand our policy it is important firstly to know exactly what the rule actually says. It is as follows (pertinent points highlighted)
From the Rule Book:
14. Foul and a Miss
(a) The striker shall, to the best of their ability, endeavour to
hit the ball on or a ball that could be on after a Red, or
a free ball nominated as a Red, has been potted. If the
referee considers the Rule infringed, they shall call FOUL
AND A MISS unless:
(i) any player required penalty points before, or as a
result of, the stroke being played and the referee is
satisfied that the miss was not intentional;
(ii) a situation exists where it is impossible to hit the ball
on. In the latter case it must be assumed the striker
cont.....
TOURNAMENT POLICY:
IN ROUND ONE (LAST 32) WE WILL APPLY THE FOLLOWING:
There are some that believe it is not practical for the ref or players opponent to make this judgement call as they may not adequately know the standard of the player they are reffing / playing. We totally agree with this concern. So, in round one of the event (last 32) we are adopting the same approach to this that our friends at Cuestars adopt : The striker will decide if he or she has made a reasonable attempt as defined in 14 (a) above and it shall be the striker that decides if their opponent can call a miss on them. There will be no limit to the amount of attempts subject of course to rule 14.
If you, as the non striker feels your opponent has just played a shot that can be called a miss, you may enquire, politely, ONCE with them if they agree with you that it is a miss. If they say no it isnt, there is to be no discussion , their decision is final and no miss shall be called.
Any player that continues to argue after this point leaves themselves open to sanction from the referee & or TD which could include loss of frame or even loss of match.
Please apply this policy as fairly and as honestly as you can, as I’m sure you all will. If there are any issues, contact the roving referee for a ruling, but please be clear, the referee will NOT over rule the strikers' decision.
We would like to thank our friends at Cuestars who originally came up with this miss policy, and we know its worked very well for them, as it has for us as well. We realise that not everyone will agree with this rule but assuming that a player is honest, which the vast majority of players are , then this rule has to work, and experience has shown it does.
FOR ROUND 2 to FINAL (LAST 16 to end of event)
The above variation will no longer apply and we will just play the standard miss rule. Ref decides & any disagreements to be adjudicated by the TD.

Alcohol consumption in the playing area will be in line with the rules of the club but please note that Snookerz operates a 'zero tolerance' approach to abusive and / or disruptive behaviour from any player to any other player and / or from any player, to any official or lounge member of staff or member of the public. If the behaviour of any player falls into this category at any time then said player will be immediately removed from the tournament without refund and also may very well be expelled from the venue as well. Our events are open to all and as such have juniors as well as less abled players attending and thus we will not tolerate any kind of behaviour that may impact on the enjoyment of the event for others. It will not matter who you are or who you know and the decision of the Tournament Director & or Lounge Management will be final.
Now that the draw has been published . No refunds will be made for any withdrawals for any reason.
