What an incredible couple of days its been. This is for me what Grass Roots Snooker is all about. We had 44 runners, players of all different ages & abilities . We are so proud to have run an event open to all. I hope everyone enjoyed the event as much as we did running it. I will be doing a full write up soon but for now, Well done to Billy Castle , the 2023 Woking Pro Am Champion (winning £525) and hard luck to Marcos Dayao, our galant runner up (Winning £235) . Congratulations also to Matt Glasby for the tournaments high break of 119 (winning £100) and also well done to David Church, World Disability player who won his group and also with a great break of 32 took the WDBS High Break prize of £50 and not forgetting our Under 16 high break winner , 11 year old James Kelly, who knocked in a PB of 21 and almost didnt get his prize due to a typo by me on the Groups page, (Qulaifying break 30 should be 20!)
Finally a quick mention for Wokings' very own James Cullen who cracked in a great break of 80 against Billy Castle.
A huge thanks to Woking Snooker Centre for hosting the event and Pete Ruddick, WSC manager. Also massive thanks to Claudia Ene and Matt Ashton , our wonderful refs and of course, our sponsors, SnookerHub and Guildford Signs
This journey doesnt end here, its just starting.... Our next major event will be in August with other events planned as well. So stay tuned ;-)
